In South Sudan, Help a Child chairs the National Education Coalition. Attention for early childhood education (ECD) and care is growing, but still, most young children do not have access to proper education because there aren’t enough ECD centers. Help a Child is one of the main organizations investing in ECD in South Sudan.
Activities focus on the establishment of ECD centers, integrating early childhood education, child protection, and food provision through tree planting around ECD centers.
Help a Child South Sudan is also involved in the humanitarian joint response of the Dutch Relief Alliance (DRA). Together with local and international partners, we assist around 106,000 vulnerable people in various parts of South Sudan. In cooperation with local partner organization Across, Help a Child is active in Wau (Western Bahar el Ghazal) and Pibor (Jonglei).
